Key Responsibilities: 

  • 60% - Pool Deck Supervision
    • Ensure and manage staff provides a high-quality swim experience
    • Oversee all Swim America level programming in the club
    • Provide leadership & coaching to staff and swim participants when applicable 
    • Advance swim lesson participants to the next level when necessary
    • Oversee, as well as maintain, a safe and clean pool deck
  • 40% - Administrative 
    • Create, maintain & oversee the swim schedule and ensure all swim lessons are staffed
    • Maintain current swim roster to be reported monthly to the Swim Director
    • Enroll all new online registrations into swim lessons, guiding them through the online bookings process
    • Establish correspondence with all swim families as their point person for swim lessons
    • Manage and organize Trello cards on the club list

  • Able and willing to work a wide variety of hours when present in the club is needed (specifically during peak times)
  • Maintain current certifications and be a lifelong learner
  • Make decisions that are fair and consistent, but not necessarily popular
  • Critically assess their own performance as well as those under their supervision
  • Mature, credible, and comfortable working with upper management in a clear and straightforward manner
  • Set an example of excellence for staff to follow in conduct, work habits, and treatment of others
  • Demonstrate self-confidence, able to be firm without being threatening

  • Able to understand and perform basic mathematical calculations related to department performance measures
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally in writing
  • Experience and a solid base of knowledge of the swim industry
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for basic computer skills and the ability to use common and/or club-specific software
  • Possess leadership skills to cast a vision for staff and build a high-performance team
  • Show good judgment, understanding what is primary and what is secondary
