Job Title: Lifeguard

Job Type: Part Time | Seasonal

Reports To: Activities Manager 

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking seasonal lifeguards who focus on creating a safe and positive experience. Responsible for our members and guests who are there to utilize our outdoor pool facilities. They effectively enforce club policies, inspect facilities for cleanliness and safety, and, when necessary, use lifeguard skills to ensure the well-being and safety of all patrons.

Specific Department Certifications:

• First Aid and CPR/AED certification (prerequisite or will complete once hired)
• Completion of lifeguard training (Will complete once hired)

• Oversees activities at locations with outdoor pools
• Ensuring the environment is safe, clean, organized, and well-maintained
• Warning swimmers regarding unsafe situations
• Responding to emergencies and rescuing patrons in danger of drowning
  • Performing first aid procedures when necessary
• Know and enforce all department policies, rules, and regulations to ensure the safety of all patrons
• Set up and take down of Pool Equipment
• Check Pool chemical levels for safety

Qualifications:

• Customer service experience
• Adaptable to a busy work environment
• Reliable transportation
• 18 years of age or older
• Proficient communication skills
• Mature and confident ability to work with all age groups and diverse backgrounds
• Physically fit, strong, agile, and dexterous.
• Able to sit or stand for extended periods
• Ability to bend, lift, carry, or maneuver children
• Able to be outdoors the majority of the shift

Preferred Skills:

• Swim Coach and/or Lifeguard background preferred but not required
• Previous pool safety or swim experience 
• Available to work evenings and weekends

Courthouse Club Hours - 

• Monday - Friday: 5:00a - 11:00p
• Saturday - Sunday: 7:00a - 9:00p

Department Shift Hours (may vary) - Seasonal May - August

• Monday - Sunday: 11:00a - 9:00p (varied shifts 4, 6, 8 hours)
